I bought a tripod over the weekend which means no more mirror shots. It also means more potential for fun posts like this one.
This is the fabric from a recent purchase. The pink is raw silk and the blue is wool. I’m planning on making pencil skirts from Gertie’s new book.
Before I can start on the skirts, I need to acquire lining. I want to use silk lining because otherwise what’s the point of using raw silk??
Exactly, what’s the point if it’s only on the outside??
I can’t wait to make my curvy hips a pencil skirt. Let me know when you’re sewing and I’ll sew-along!
Will do. Yay!
I love you so much, Leila. This post makes me happy.
I’m glad you got some good fabric fondling in.
I have a friend who loves rolling around with fabric on her bed. Silk, preferably.
Love that vibrant pink, that’ll make one sexy pencil skirt! Can’t wait to see your finished product with a great tripod modeling pose
Thanks! I’m excited. More Tripod fun!
Bwahahaha! I do this, too.
Do you ever drape pieces around you and wear them around the house?
Hooray for tripods and protein fibers!
You should join me and @sewfearless in tweeting pics of us #drapedinfabric
glad you got a laugh.
lol – fun photos! I’ve never met anyone who sews who doesn’t drape the nice fabrics on themselves. And I’ve never known a costumer who can resist making a hat out of random objects. =)
