Soutache braid

I keep walking away from this part of making this skirt because of how tricky the soutache braid has been to shape. I can say that the second side is turning out nicer than the first so practice really does the trick.

Other than this skirt, I’m waiting to either be assigned a pattern. I have to finish this skirt before I can ask for another pattern, which is only fair.

The nice thing with adding time-consuming trim to a skirt is that I didn’t have to spend a ton of time with alterations.

I’m enjoying the task.

This is really my first try, along with the 1912 slip I made. I’ve focused so much energy on fit. More fitting to come once I start in on the blouses, dresses and coats.
