New Hourglassy Post with Gussets!

I’m not the first person to talk about gussets and I don’t pretend to know it all but I figured out two alterations I could do on woven buttondowns to make them fit me better. Yes, we’re talking off the rack stuff.

One alteration should be pretty simple and quick to do while the second, the one including gussets, will take a little more of your attention.

Go check out my tutorial on Hourglassy and say hi while you’re there. You can also ask me a question and I’ll answer it in blog post form. Just email me at AskLeila@hourglassy.com with any of your big bewb fit and alteration questions.

Cheers for the helpful info. Is there a way to do this without an overlocker? I.e. any seam made that way using a sewing machine will have a non-flat profile and will stick out through swimwear fabric.

Try zig zagging it with a short stitch. Is that what you mean? I’m thinking you meant to comment on the bra construction post? Maybe WP is being silly.

Na it was me being inattentive-I’m used to clicking on comments at the end of the corresponding post so I scrolled down and clicked without realising your theme has comments up top.
Still not sure how to hold everything together while zigzagging and that everything will hold together like a flatlock stitch would. Eh, something to think about-it’s still mid-winter here so early days yet XD

hehe, I got it from Gillian (@gilliancrafts on twitter). I laugh every time.

The Swimalong posts were all mostly scheduled from when Katie and I were planning them. I just go in and make sure they still make sense. 🙂 But thanks!
