Taurus and Virgo

Top Tarot Spreads To Get You Started

Tarot cards are a versatile divination tool that can provide guidance in any area of life – from love between Taurus and Virgo to career.

The two card Yin-Yang spread can give you a better understanding of symmetry in a given situation by showing the opposing energies involved. It’s also incredibly useful for practicing interpreting cards pairs.

The Major Arcana

Tarot cards are divided into two categories, the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The former represents big life changes while the latter is comprised of wands, swords, cups, and pentacles, representing daily events and feelings. The Major Arcana has 22 cards and tells a story known as the Fool’s journey.

Taurus and Virgo

Seeing this card in your spread is often a sign that you are making progress towards a goal or outcome that is important to you. Whether it’s in your personal relationships, career, or health and wellbeing, this card is a reminder that you are getting closer to where you want to be.

This card reminds us to let go of our past and embrace a new beginning. The Death card can be a difficult lesson to learn. However, it reminds us that transformation is inevitable and we should trust in the process. The Tower card encourages us to examine our beliefs and values and see how they impact our lives.

The Minor Arcana

The Minor Arcana cards reflect the day-to-day struggles and tribulations that we all encounter, though they are typically less significant than the Major Arcana. They’re usually viewed as having a temporary influence on your life, offering lessons and insights that can be applied to future situations. The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits: Wands (diamonds), Swords (spades), Cups (hearts) and Discs/Coins/Pentacles (clubs). Each suit has a different number of cards. There are also four court cards: King, Queen, Knights, and Pages. These card types represent different personality characteristics that you may express at any given time.

A lot of Pentacles cards in a spread could indicate that you are gaining stability in your financial life. If you have a lot Swords cards, it could mean that you’re struggling to deal with conflict and tension.

It’s important to also take into account the cards surrounding a Minor Arcana in your reading. They can provide additional context, and help shape its interpretation. This is especially true of the numbered cards, which can have both numerological and elemental meanings. The Two of Swords could represent having two minds on an important decision or a lack of balance in your life.

The Major-Minor Spread

The Major Arcana card deals with life lessons and experiences that are more general, while the Minor Arcana card focuses on daily circumstances and influences. Due to this difference, Major and Minor Arcana are usually kept separate during tarot readings.

However, some people find it helpful to blend the two when doing readings. This is useful if you want to know more concrete and specific details about your current situation. In this situation, you will want to first read the Major Arcana, and then use Minor Arcana to provide more clarity and detail.

When the Major Arcana cards are prominent in a reading it indicates that a major lesson or shift is taking place. Alternatively, if the spread contains mostly Minor Arcana cards, it could indicate that your concerns are more short-term and mundane.

When interpreting the spread, it is important to take note of the overall pattern. If, for example, the Major Arcana includes a predominance Swords or Wands, this could indicate that your intelligence is overriding your intuition. On the other side, if you see a lot of Cups, pentacles, and the Hierophant in the Major Arcana, this could mean that your intellect is overriding your intuition.

The Five-Card Spread

The five-card spread will help you navigate a major change in your life or adapt to minor changes. The layout reveals information about your current financial status, past experiences and potential future outcomes. It also reveals the underlying reasons for the situation. It also puts your expectations under the microscope, revealing what you may currently believe about the circumstances and how they might be shaping your decisions.

The second card reveals your resources, indicating the people and things you can draw upon to support you along this journey. The third card identifies any obstacles you may face, like negative thought patterns or self-critical behaviors. This prompts you to examine these beliefs and attitudes, allowing you to make more loving choices towards yourself.

Place the first card at the center to represent the current situation. Place the second card above it to identify any challenges you might be facing. Position the third card beneath the second to reveal your options and the outcome you want to achieve. The fourth card explains the potential impact of your choice, while the fifth card shows how it will evolve over time. This is an effective spread for those looking for guidance around money matters, career, and healing and self-love.

The Chakra Spread

This spread uses a tarot deck and cards based on the chakra system. These cards can be used for chakra balancing but also in a specific arrangement to determine the condition a certain chakra.

The throat chakra, or vishuddha, is all about speaking the truth and uplifting others through your words. This chakra can be blocked by a tendency to gossip or people who insist on their own version of events. Blockages may also manifest themselves as neck and hearing problems.

Tori explains the meaning of cards in this position, pairing them with specific Chakras. She also recommends an exercise where colors are aligned with their chakra. She teaches readers how to interpret reversals by comparing them with planets that are moving back into retrograde.

The solar plexus chakra is all about self-esteem, personal power and determination to achieve goals. The energy of this chakra can be blocked by people who insist on their own version of events or those who try to control situations. The blockage can manifest as a lack of motivation or the ability to stay grounded. The solar plexus can also become overactive if the Subject has an excess of anger or frustration.

The Yes Or No Spread

The Yes or No Spread is a straightforward and simple method of answering questions in a timely manner. Its simplicity and speed make it especially useful in situations when clarity is required immediately.

You will need one deck of Tarot cards, and your question. Shuffle the deck, and channel your intention as you imbue the energy of your questions into it. When you feel ready, pull a card from the deck and place it in the center. Ask your question out loud or in your mind and repeat it while you draw a card and place it to the right of the original card. If both cards are upright the awnser is yes, if the second card is reversed then the answer is no.

If, however, the second card does not appear reversed but is in a different place in the spread, this could indicate that your wish comes true, but at a future date. If this is true, you may want to reflect on your reading in order to understand why you are being asked for more time. It might also help to ask a follow-up question and see what the response is.
